The Danger could not be Greater
A political environment is described in my latest fictional book, Velvet Lies and Iron Gates. Many believe it parallels Radical Marxist socialist members’ actions now in Congress as they attempt to control the agenda and America’s future.
Democrats and Republicans must not let this happen. If the radicals in congress successfully set our country’s policies, freedoms lost will be difficult to regain. Noted in my book, corruption, along with greed for power and riches, will see that it never happens.
My book points out that down the road, years from now, Americans will rally and become convinced that Democracy and freedom are worth the fight. America will go full circle and again be fighting for freedom as in our Revolutionary War. We will only take our country back by force, and the loss of lives will be many.
My book notes, we have the chance right now to stop Socialism in its tracts. Our challenge is for the American people to rid themselves of existing complacency and for congress to stand up against Socialism.

A Primer on Socialism
The Socialist and Communist revolutions have led to the mass murders, torture, and starvation of tens of millions worldwide. Estimates are that more than 200 million people have been killed in an attempt to establish a Socialist/Communist world.
History has shown the destructive effect Socialism has had in the past, so why are educated people trying to move America in that direction? It’s not that they lack knowledge of the past. They refuse to accept it and believe they can achieve different results. These radicals care more about enriching themselves and gaining personal power than concerns about the costs and misery Socialism would inflict on the country.
Socialism’s velvet lies promise prosperity, equality, and security to the people. History shows that it can not deliver on these promises. The results are loss of freedom and Iron Gates of captivity in a society of poverty, misery, and in time, tyranny.
A Lost Opportunity
A year ago, anyone suggesting that organized street violence was moving us toward civil war, I would have thought them insane. But, with hard-line militants orchestrating and enticing the rioting, looting, and burning down cities, we are nearing that possibility. We see the loss of innocent lives and properties destroyed that people worked their entire lives to build. We see incompetent city leaders afraid to protect their citizens.
Politicians, the Media, BLM organization, and Antifa are all contributing to the problem. They are using violence to increase personal gain and political power. Citizens are being pitted against each other along racial lines. They are caught in the middle and used as pawns.
As long as weak leaders appease the rioters and the corrupt media fans the flames, things will worsen.
The country yearns for leaders at the local level to develop solutions and ideas to keep our country united and not a splintered nation. Professional athletes, with their popularity, could rise to the occasion.
